Sounds on YouTube are one of the most popular features used by Gen Z when creating a Short. But when it comes to creating, this group feels pressure to make something cool. They don’t want to be judged by their friends. So we leaned into their cultural and musical interests; nostalgia, trends and user created sounds. And reminded them that making Shorts on YouTube is all about, just having fun.
AI Bloom
YouTube Shorts released one of its first AI filters. This one turned anything into to a colorful bloom. Did we really mean anything? Yes, any thing! We were excited. And to show off this new release, we partnered with creators and tasked them to turn anything and everything into creative blooms - their world, themselves, and even some got creative with their pets!
Creator Community
YouTube Shorts’ creator community is made up of a wide range of interests. For Gen Z, it feels daunting to create content not knowing if there’s an audience who will appreciate their passions. So we set out to encourage these hesitant Gen Zers by highlighting one of the biggest existing YouTube Shorts communities, Gaming - showing them that no matter what you like about gaming, there’s a creator who’s making a Short about it.
